How I run a project

I learned the job by writing code: two years of development at Planet Monetic, then project management. So when I estimate a deadline or settle a priority, I know what that decision means for the team carrying it out.

Define the scope before development starts

I begin by writing down the need with the people involved: what has to be delivered, what can wait and what is out of scope. A clear, shared scope reduces both delays and misunderstandings.

Bridge business and engineering

The business expresses a need, the technical team proposes a solution, and each side has its own vocabulary. I connect the two and make sure everyone is talking about the same thing.

Deliver in stages

A version people can test is worth more than a long specification. It brings real feedback and leaves time to change course.

Follow up after go-live

Acceptance testing, deployment and follow-up are all part of the project. A tool used every day keeps evolving after it is delivered.

Keep building

With BourbeLabs, I design, develop, test and publish my own products. This keeps my technical skills current and helps me understand the work of the teams I support.
